What makes you original and unique?
Learningand growing from my mistakes makes me unique, both personally and professionally.  This quality has enabled me to recognize past choices and grow from them for the future.

Who or what inspired you to come to Alexandria?
Inaddition to my mentor Chef Cathal Armstrong influencing my decision to come to Alexandria, I have always loved the area as a retreat from the city.  Growing up in the Mid-Atlantic region, Old Town and greater Alexandria has always had a charming lure with its historic background and quaint setting.

What is your secret to success?
Mysecret to success is to constantly remain working.  Persistence in continuing to pursue one's craft in addition to having patience for yourself and others is also extremely important.

What is your proudest achievement?
Myproudest achievement is serving as Executive Chef of The Majestic.  Opening the restaurant and watching it grow in the past two years has been a privilege and honor.

Do you have a favorite Alexandria travel tip and or a favorite recipe you are willing to share?
A travel tip to visitors is to walk the streets of Alexandria, making sure to take it all in.  A favorite recipe of mine is Maryland She-Crab Soup and Home Style Meatloaf.

Best date idea in Alexandria?
Fora first date, Eamonn's A Dublin Chipper is a casual eatery boasting a menu of traditional Irish fish and chips in addition to other deep-friedgoodies. For a more romantic evening, The Tasting Room at Restaurant Eve is superb.

Favorite places to go for brunch, happy hour, dinner under the stars, lunch deals, and places to take your dog?
Brunch:The Majestic's Nana's Sunday Dinner is a perfect alternative to traditional weekend brunches. Beginning at 1:00 every Sunday, the restaurant invites guests to feast on pre- fixed menu of traditional Virginia comfort food, served family- style to include an entire pie.

Doggy-Happy Hour: The outdoor patio, which is dog-friendly at newly opened Jackson 20.

LunchDeals: Lickity-Split at Restaurant Eve is the best lunch deal for only $13.50. Casually dining at the bar, guests can choose any two items fromthe menu for a quick and delicious lunch on the go.

If you had friends visiting Alexandria what would you tell them to do and see during their visit?
Iwould highly suggest they visit Mount Vernon, as recent renovations have been made. It is truly not to be missed.  Alexandria has so much tooffer and it's important to veer "off the beaten path." Visiting Del Ray is another recommendation, as it is a neighborhood with much to offer.
