Metrorail subway service from the airport to Alexandria cost $1.35 (blue or yellow Metro line from National Airport to King Street) with a slight increase during rush hour.

Located approximately 50 minutes from downtown Alexandria, Dulles Airport offers a full range of domestic and international flights.

Ground Transportation To/From Dulles:

The  Washington Flyer bus service leaves from the West Falls Church Metro Station. Departures every 30 minutes, journey time around 25 minutes. Fare: $9 one way, $16 round trip.

Taxi fare from Dulles to Alexandria is approximately $55.

Located approximately 40 minutes from downtown Alexandria, BWI offers a full range of domestic and international flights.

Group Transportation To/From BWI:

MARC train service takes travelers from BWI to Washington, D.C.'s Union Station (Penn Line). Trains run approx. every 30 minutes Monday-Friday.  From Union Station take Metro rail to King Street Metro Station in Old Town Alexandria. Many hotels offer free shuttle service from the Metro station to their hotel.

AMTRAK trains run seven days a week from BWI to Alexandria's Union Station (ALX) which is located next to the King Street Metro Station. Call 800/USA-RAIL or click link for more details.

Taxi fare from BWI to Alexandria is approximately $70.

Amtrak Station (ALX)

The Amtrak station in Alexandria opened on September 15, 1905. The train station is directly adjacent to the King Street metro station and faces the George Washington Masonic National Memorial.

The facility has a waiting room and is staffed by Amtrak employees. Alexandria is served by 14 daily trains. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
