Alexandria Goes Red for Women
Kickoff Event on Friday, February 13 at 9:30 a.m.

WHAT: On the steps of one of Alexandria's boutiques in the heart of Old Town Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille will mark the beginning of the "Alexandria Goes Red" campaign, a city-supported effort to raise awareness that heart disease is the #1 killer of women, with a proclamation and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The public is invited to witness the event.

The City of Alexandria and retailers including Diva Boutique and the Christmas Attic are teaming up to raise awareness about heart disease in women.

On Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14, shoppers wearing red will receive a 10% discount on purchases at Diva Boutique and The Christmas Attic and be entered to win a drawing for additional prizes. Other retailers and businesses are expected to join their efforts.
