Free Online Registration Required for Spaces in Old Town

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 2013) -Alexandria, Virginia, welcomes motorcoaches with free parking options and user-friendly resources. Motorcoach parking in historic Old Town Alexandria requires a free parking permit that can be obtained through online registration. Additional free, unreserved parking locations are available within three miles of Old Town. Paid short-term and long-term parking are also available. Short-Term Parking

Reserved short-term parking with a free permit is available:
* Four spaces near the waterfront on the 500 block of North Union Street
* Three spaces in north Old Town in the 900 block of North St. Asaph Street
* Online Motorcoach Parking Reservation System www.visitalexandriava.com/Motorcoach

 

Unreserved, free (first-come, first-served) parking spaces are available within 3 miles of historic Old Town:
* Up to seven spaces on the 400 block of Swann Avenue

Reserved short-term parking for a flat fee of $10 is available:
* 25 spaces at the George Washington Masonic Memorial, 101 Callahan Drive

Long-Term/Overnight Parking

 

Reserved long-term/overnight parking for a fee of $35 per 24-hour period is available:
* 25 spaces at the George Washington Masonic Memorial, 101 Callahan Drive

Loading and Unloading

 

Active loading and unloading for motorcoaches is allowed in designated areas throughout the historic district. Below is a list of approved locations closest to popular attractions. A map of these locations is available on www.visitalexandriava.com/Motorcoach.

 

* The Waterfront and Torpedo Factory Art Center:
Unit block of King Street (one space), north side, westbound, behind King Street Trolley. Do not load/unload on Union or Cameron streets.

* The Strand:
100 and 200 block. No sidewalk. Do not block the Old Dominion Boat Club Parking Entrance.

 

* Market Square, Historic District, Restaurants, Visitors Center, or Walking Tours:
300 block of King Street (five spaces), north side, westbound between Fairfax and Royal streets.

 

* Gadsby's Tavern Museum and Gadsby's Tavern Restaurant:
100 block of North Royal Street (one space), west side, southbound between Cameron and King streets, directly in front of Gadsby's Tavern Museum and Restaurant.

 

* Christ Church:
100 block of North Washington Street (five spaces), between Cameron and King streets, west side, southbound EXCEPT 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. 100 block of South Washington Street (one space), between Prince and King streets, east side, northbound EXCEPT for 7-9 a.m. Monday through Friday. Do not block the DASH/MetroBus stop.

* The Lyceum:
200 block of South Washington Street (one space), west side, southbound EXCEPT 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
