Arts Anniversaries in Alexandria

The Year of Extraordinary Anniversaries

2014 marks the "Year of Extraordinary Anniversaries" in Alexandria, with a staggering number of sites and art organizations reaching major milestones. With special seasons, events and exhibits happening all year long, the celebration will culminate into an art festival on June 14, 2014 at the Old Town Arts & Crafts Fair in collaboration with ArtsFEST.

At Market Square and in the Torpedo Factory Art Center, visitors will enjoy live performances by Alexandria organizations celebrating anniversaries like the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, plus dance performances, live music and theater from local groups like the Alexandria Citizens Band and Ambassador Theater. Also happening throughout the day, visitors can enjoy interactive art activities, food vendors and craft booths, all joining together to recognize the city's artistic achievements. See the full performance schedule here.
