Fred Zafran

Urban documentary photographer Fred Zafran presents a portfolio of new work in this solo exhibit at the Multiple Exposures Gallery, Alexandria, VA.

For a year, Fred Zafran followed the current of the street, open to the emotion and energy of the neighborhood surrounding 7th and H Streets NW in inner city Washington, DC. As he wandered the streets and alleyways without plan or preconception, images emerged as a revelation of what he found just below the surface... the hidden refrain of a neighborhood pulsating and trembling at the intersection of three distinct DC subcultures.

About the artist: Fred Zafran lives in Loudoun County, VA and works in the DC metro area. He has traveled widely, and his photography takes place in small towns and cities throughout the U.S. and abroad. Zafran is a juried artist of the Torpedo Factory Art Center (TFAC) in Alexandria, VA and has exhibited his work at galleries in New England and throughout the DC area.
