  • Thursday - Saturday 10 am-8 pm

Named for William Ramsay, Scottish merchant and city founder, this Visitors Center was once a private home to Mr. Ramsay and his family. Today you can still find warm hospitality waiting for you in the knowledgeable Visitors Center staff.

Whether you would like to pick up a visitor guide or brochures, purchase tickets to a special event or meet for a Ghost Tour, the expert staff with over 14 years of combined service are ready to help you find that hidden treasure or popular spot to make your vacation complete!

Located at 221 King Street, just across the street from City Hall and Market Square in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria you can find modern day conveniences like an ATM, gift shop, clean restrooms, vending machines and internet access tucked into a quaint 18th-century building complete with colorful gardens and a lovely front porch perfect for taking a break from your Alexandria adventure.

Skip the line! Tickets to George Washington's Mount Vernon are now available for purchase at the Visitors Center.
