Alexandria, VA—Throughout June, celebrate Pride Month in historic Alexandria, Virginia, located within eyesight of Washington, D.C., with more than a dozen events, happenings, food and drink specials, and hotel packages. Take part in special events like Priday Night at Port City Brewing Company and ALX Pride 2019 Mix & Mingle at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Kick off Pride Month Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Port City Brewing Company and celebrate Alexandria’s diverse community with the Alexandria-Arlington Gay and Lesbian Alliance (AGLA). Enjoy musical entertainment, outdoor games and activities along with featured artists from the Torpedo Factory Art Center, topped off with a drag show from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. from the Brewery Babes. A portion of all sales from the night will be donated to support AGLA's mission to improve the quality of life and meet the needs of the LGBTQ community and allies. Port City Brewing Company takes pride in making beer for everyone. 

Pride at The Dog Park

On June 6, 2019, four-legged friends can celebrate Pride Month in style with rainbow bow ties, collars and flower bows from The Dog Park. The boutique will also be selling LGBTQ-friendly pawprint magnets for pup owners.

Juvenile fiction author Nicole Melleby will visit Hooray for Books! to read her debut novel, Hurricane Season. The story follows sixth-grader Fig Arnold and features LGBTQ+ characters. The children’s book is suitable for readers ages 10 and up.

Show Your Pride at the Portside in Old Town Summer Festival

Show your Pride at the Portside in Old Town Summer Festival on the Alexandria waterfront. At this festival of live music, award-winning Port City brews plus local food and kids’ activities, NOVA Pride and Safe Space NOVA present a hands-on jewelry making activity for families and offer Pride swag for purchase. Also at the festival, you can snap the perfect Pride Month profile picture at Mirror Mirror, a new rainbow-hued temporary public art installation.

Chef Sebastien Rondier has a talent for this popular dessert, and the Brabo Brasserie team is excited to offer guests something special in celebration of Pride Month. For each rainbow Baked Alaska ordered, the French brasserie will donate $1 to The Trevor Project.
