Historic Alexandria Museum Educator Kristy Huettner will discuss how Hannah Griffith used her status, experience as a "deputy husband" during the Revolution, and industriousness to make a new life for herself and her eight young children in the late 18th century. Widowed in 1789, her life changed dramatically. She then operated the prestigious Alexandria Coffee-House, which is one of the buildings now part of Gadsby's Tavern Museum.
