Explore, Create, and Shop During Old Town Alexandria’s Makers Mile: Mini Edition
If you missed our first ever Makers Mile, then you’re in luck. From July 19 to 21, we are introducing the brand-new Makers Mile MINI event. If you’re a Maker in the making or a seasoned veteran who is looking for something fun to do this summer, then we have the thing for you. Come out to Old Town Alexandria and spend some quality time with family and friends while practicing a new skill. Experience everything from paper and paint to fabric, yarn and more. Register now and we will reserve a Corkcicle water bottle* so you can stay hydrated as you walk Makers Mile. With it, you can stop at each store to collect flair, visit a “make and take” station, and shop! Each store will have a limited-edition vinyl sticker, made especially for decorating your water bottle and “make and take” craft stations, where you can practice your crafty skills and take home your new handmade item!
Participating stores and restaurants include AR Workshop (1212 King St, @arworkshopalexandria), fibre space (1319 Prince St, @fibrespace), Penny Post (1201 King St, @shoppennypost), Red Barn Mercantile (1117 King St, @redbarnmerc), and Stitch Sew Shop (1219 King St, @stitchsewshop). Dining partners include Meggrolls (107 N. Fayette St, @meggrollmania) and Nicecream (726 King St, @nicecreamdc). The crafting begins at 11 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. at all the shops.
*Here’s the fine print…participants should be 10 years or older. Anyone younger must be accompanied by an adult. (Parents, make your reservation and join the fun too!) Each reservation includes a water bottle, a sticker from each store to be picked up at the stores, and a make and take craft. To collect stickers and partake of the craft you MUST have a reservation and show your water bottle before starting the event. Water bottles and crafts are while supplies last.
