Painting and design techniques, such as sponging, marbling, dry brushing, stenciling, etc., are invaluable when working on a set. But they can also save you money, when adapted for home use. As well as gaining a thorough understanding of procedures and techniques, hands-on demonstrations will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills sets. Other topics include color/wheels, dutching, taping and seaming, types of paints and finishes and set development from inception to completion. Theatre protocols and fire codes are also covered and participants will enjoy a mid-session backstage tour of the Greater DC's oldest theatre. At the end of the course, participants will bring home their personal pallet of work. All materials and supplies will be provided. For ages 18+. Instructor for this class is Mona Wargo and her bio can be found online at www.thelittletheatre.com.
