November 2 - January 7
Featuring sketches and studies created by members of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, this exhibition focuses on the process of painting in the field and trying to capture the essence and important aspects of what might be included in the final work. Created relatively quickly, the sketches and studies serve as a shorthand that informs the creation of the final pieces, which in a number of cases will be exhibited along side the original sketch.
