Every Stitch Counts: the 54th Woodlawn Needlework Show & Sale opens March 1 with expanded programming and behind-the-scenes opportunities!
Look forward to traditional and contemporary works to be awarded ribbons by three expert judges and exhibited by needlework crafters of all ages and stages of experience, from all over the country. For this year’s Show, we have added a fantastic slate of programming that will include:
- A rare, behind-the-scenes, collections closet tour of some of the original needlework of Eleanor “Nelly” Custis, who was the first owner of Woodlawn and counted needlework as one of her many talents.
- A unique exhibition by artist Hillary Waters Fayle and poet Jennifer Clements, loosely inspired by the tradition of embroidery samplers to communicate important themes exquisitely in thread.
- Creative and fun workshop opportunities in Japanese temari ball-making, goldwork and others.
