At Tempo, we grow our own green beans, tomatoes, fresh herbs, cucumbers, asparagus, artichokes and figs. We grow organically and compost all of our vegetable waste ourselves. We won the Environmental Leadership Award for Restaurant Management in 2010 and we are a “Virginia Green” restaurant. We buy locally caught soft shells during the soft shell season from an independent family owned and operated business. Some of our produce is purchased at Alexandria’s Farmer’s Market and our flowers on the tables and the flower arrangement in the foyer are purchased there also.
