Alexandria, Virginia hosts the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle September 4-8, 2017, as part of a tour of the Eastern U.S. Coast.
Eagle, also known as “America’s Tall Ship,” is the largest tall ship flying the U.S. flag and the only active commissioned sailing vessel in American military service. Built in 1936, the Eagle is the seventh U.S. Coast Guard cutter to bear the name in a proud line dating back to 1792. As a training vessel and goodwill ambassador, Eagle has offered generations of Coast Guard Academy cadets and officer candidates an unparalleled experience at sea.
